Writing Disability and Diversity in your Fiction

Penny Batchelor and Clare Christian will be hosting a session on writing disability and diversity in your fiction as part of the Professional Writing Academy’s online Set The World To Write Festival.

Join Penny and Clare, co-founders of the ADCI (authors with disabilities and chronic illnesses) literary prize, on Monday 5th September at 6pm. This session will discuss the issues around representation in literature, with a particular emphasis on disability. It will give participants insight into why diversity and inclusion in fiction is so important, how and why to include diverse characters and how to do this authentically when not writing from 'own experience' It will also include what to avoid and why and will conclude with a Q&A.
